Foster the People Video

So we had a chance to do some SPFX air squib Blood effects on this Foster the People Video. Blue Blood but still fun to do. We had to do 18 Squib hits all at once..... thats a lot of air.

Zombies, Pancakes, and Booze

We recently had a blast doing the Zombie Fx at the Pancakes and Booze Art Show hosted by Tom Kirlin.

Since the Fashion show featured Bikini suites we had to get creative in the full body make-up application. we had 2 1/2  hours to complete 15-20 zombies.

The venue had low lighting conditions so we went for more of a high contrast theatrical look.

We had a great team of SPFX Artists Charles Wills, Leigh Schwatz, Amy Mills, Chris Mills, and Cig Neutron.

Our Newest Creature an the Lab

So I recently got a call for a rush job on a monster from Gears Of War

 Brandon Dishman and Charles Wills busted out the sculpt in a little over two days Then it was off to Mold land. We did a quick shim job with the help of lab resident Leigh Schwartz as well as our good friend James Conrad.

Ahh the joys of fiberglass. the mold sat out in the sun to help it cure quicker.

Charles Wills and I burning the midnight oil while fill the body with guts and stuff thanks to all of our interns from Make-up Designery we were able to do a butter batch and get Him closed up.

Our first pull out of the mold worked (not that we had a choice)  Rachael Kooyman and Mariana Olesijuk Seam the beast. the we attached the hands and proceed to paint the silicone.

 Final step build a box big enough for this dude! Well he was a success can't wait to do a display model for the shop.

Forest Miniature

So After a lot of hard work and colaberation of many people at the lab, we have come to the end of our forest project. It was an eye-opening experience and I have gained a lot of respect for those who used to create whole worlds this way.

2011 Vancouver Imats

We had a Blast up at the Vancouver IMATS doing demos for Frends Beauty Supply and Makeup FX Tech.

our I Love Dick Tattoo was very popular up north even with the Vancouver Film School. Stan Edmonds sports one Here.

We did some basic injury demos unitizing the Frends brand Studio Pros-aid Transfers. Thank you Canada for an awesome show and for all of your hospitality durring our stay!

So Silver Shamrock Lab had another fine day at the Imats LA 2011 promoting our new online news and tutorial site Makeup FX Tech. Ballistics

Ballistics Gel Torso for "Deadliest Warrioir"

Working on Deadliest Warrior Season 2&3 allowed us to do a lot of testing on the Ballistics Dummy. We were able to take the primitive Ballistics made on Myth Busters and bring it to the next level. We are constantly  improving our Ballistics test Props . We have formulated Gel for all different types of weapons testing from Guns to Swords and even high powered explosives. Silver Shamrock Lab Customizes each dummy to fit the needs of the test. We currently provide Ballistics for several reality TV episodes as well as  branches of the government.
